Dance classes

Beginner Guinea dance classes taught by Julie Staveley-O’Carroll beginning Thursday September 19th. Classes are from 7:30-8:30 the following Thursdays:

September 19 and 26

October 3, 10, and 24

Location: Moon Yoga Studio 23 South 4th Street Columbia, MO

Tuition:

5 classes $50

drop-in class $15

drop-in class student $10

Drumming/Percussion classes

Local drummer Pam Fleenor-Benton hosts beginning drum classes for people interested in learning to play djembe and dundun drums. Each class include instrument technique as well as exploration of a different Guinean rhythm. Recent guest instructors have included Sekou Conde (Chicago) and Senny Daffé (Conakry, Guinea).
